How does ping matter?
As most of us already know the larger your ping is the worse off you are when it comes to gaming. Your ping will depend on many things, but most important of them all is the distance between the game server and you (the client). The longer it takes for the information passing between the players of the server and the server itself, the worse off overall gaming experience will be. Generally to help with this, keep the game server as close as possible to the people who are going to be playing on it. While distance is a major factor, the data center that the server is hosted at is also of vital importance. Generally speaking the more bandwidth providers that the data center is connected to, the better. That means that as you take a look at different hosts you should ensure that you look at the data center that they are hosting their servers at. While prices might be lower at some places, you certainly do get what you pay for in this industry.
